How can i stop relying on sheet music when playing guitar?

I play guitar in a band every week but always have a folder of guitar chords in front of me, i don't really mind its just that id love to learn all the songs off by heart!! The songs range from short to long and i only need to remember chords!!How can i stop relying on sheet music when playing guitar?
do learn em by heart they have to be in your heart to begin with. Are these songs you love to listen to? The more you like a song, the easier it will be to remember the chords.

listening to the music is equally as important as practicing them. Id suggest listening to them before you go to sleep. more specifically, listen to the chords in the song. Dont feel like you have to memorize them, just listen, and enjoy the song. The point isnt to memorize, but to get the music in youHow can i stop relying on sheet music when playing guitar?
or you could just not play yeh??? Love PLB

try practicing all your songs without looking at the chords as much as possible, try to memorize them...
