How do I translate Bass Guitar sheet music to the fret board?

If you know the strings, the notes, and how sharps, flats, naturals, and steps work then it would be really easy to do. In just words its very complicated to explain. Bass guitar uses bass clef. The lowest note on the bass (if you use standard tuning) is e which is 2 notes down from the bottom of the staff. The notes then go like this: e (open), f (first fret), f sharp or g flat (second fret), g (third fret), g sharp or a flat (fourth fret), and it just keeps going up. The notes also go up (space, line, space, line, etc) on the staff. Its also the same for the A string, D string, and G string. I hope I helped...somewhat. Sorry that's the best way i can describe it. You may want to find a fret chart also- that helped me a lot when i was learning the bass.
